Is it safe to travel?
You can find daily updates on the travel restrictions in place in different countries around the world here. All operators, airlines, hoteliers and transport companies have gone to great length to ensure your travels are safe.
Where can I travel?
The UK government's traffic light system for international travel is still in place, with travel to green list countries open. You can see the full list here.
Can I travel to amber list destinations and will I need to isolate when I come back?
Travel to amber list destinations is permitted. From 19 July 2021, if you live in England and have received two vaccinations 14 days or more before travelling, then you do not need to isolate at home on your return. You will still need to take tests before and after travelling home, and should always check the entry requirements of your holiday destination.
How long are travel restrictions likely to be in place?
From Monday 4 October, a new simplified system with a single red list for international travel will replace the current traffic light system. If you're fully vaccinated you will not need a pre-departure test before arrival into England from a non-red country. For further information about the new system for international travel, please click here.
Later in October (date TBC), fully vaccinated travellers returning from non-red countries will only be required to take an affordable lateral flow test, replacing the day-two PCR test.
On Wednesday 22 September, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Egypt and the Maldives were taken off the red list. However, some entry restrictions remain in place so we advise that you check the latest FCDO advice for full destination information for the country you are planning to visit.
Should I be worried about booking a holiday?
Any holidays booked through Tripsmiths are financially protected by the tour operator operating the tour, either through ABTA, AITO, ABTOF, TTA (or similar) and/or ATOL, meaning the government's travel financial protection schemes will refund you should travel restrictions prevent you from going or cause the trip to be cancelled.
I've booked a holiday. Can I cancel or postpone it?
Please make contact with the tour operator with whom your booking has been made, to discuss your booking. You will be able to find information relating specifically to cancellations or rebooking options on the operators' website. Who can I speak with to discuss my booking?
If you have any concerns about a trip you have booked though us, please contact the operator as above.
What happens if my holiday is cancelled?
